SCOPE
AS&C, following the MIPAAF-PLASMON Memorandum of Understanding, has drawn up a certifiable Technical Specification dedicated to infant food and aimed at verifying the 100% Italian origin of the supply chain.
The Italian Product Certificate is intended to improve the Italian food supply chain through the use of a quality and safety mark for baby food products, the promotion of proper nutrition and adoption of the Mediterranean diet in the first 1000 days of children’s lives and the promotion of good supply chain practices that can strengthen the value of Made in Italy products on domestic and foreign markets.
What does the Italian Product Specification provide for
HUMAN RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL
Provide evidence of personnel trained on the product specification and HACCP
INFRASTRUCTURE
Properly maintained machinery and equipment
HACCP PLAN
Application of HACCP regulations
CONTROLS, SYSTEM AND PRODUCT MONITORING
Apply controls and measurements in production, in accordance with applicable regulations
SUPPLYING
Ensure that the product purchased is 100% Made in Italy. Apply suitable storage methods so that the Italian product is not mixed with other products.
GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS (GMO)
All raw materials and finished products labelled ” PRODUCT OF ITALY WITH ITALIAN INGREDIENTS” must not contain GMOs.
SUPPLIERS
Suppliers of 100% Made in Italy products must be specifically inspected and assessed by the company.
IDENTIFICATION, TRACEABILITY AND PRODUCT RECALL
The company must demonstrate that it is able to properly identify, trace and, if necessary, withdraw the product placed on the market labelled “Made in Italy with Italian raw materials”.
